Man, it's been a full-on winter since early November. Just got a fresh 4 inches yesterday. Local old-timers say this is the worst Okanogan winter in the past 30 years. Our lowest temperature, just before Christmas, was -27F. Everything froze solid. Our snow pack has lasted 4 1/2 months so far, and cabin fever is really creeping in. Still got plenty of firewood, so I think I'll light up the wood stove later today and hang out in the carving shack. Nothing like whittling next to the woodstove, enjoying a hot drink.
