I carved this cooking scoop from salvaged alder wood found near our shop. This would be perfect for stir frying and serving tastey entrees. Carved with hatchet and knives, and then sealed with natural wood wax, which is food grade and vegan friendly.
This wooden spoon measures 10" long. The scooped bowl is 3 1/4" long and 2" wide. The handle has a fair amount of curve or "crank" to make it easy to scoop into a skillet or saucepan. The alder wood has been lightly baked to for hardening and bringing out the character of the wood. The decorative chip carving and small finial on the handle will add a bit of charm to your cooking experience. A unique piece that will last for many years.
Carved without use of machinery or sandpaper, the spoon has a traditional whittled knife finish. I do not use templates to shape the spoons. Each one is designed while carving, and each one is unique.
Wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry with a cloth. Hand wash only for years of enjoyment.
