Huge Cowboy Ladle - Bent Alder Branch - One Only - Free Shipping

This is a big bent branch ladle that will be right at home serving up a big scoop of beans at the chuckwagon.  This is the perfect size for those big dutch ovens and stew pots.  The ladle his hand carved using only axe and knife, in the traditional way.  It has a smooth knife finish, without the use of sandpaper.  Carved from a bent alder crook, the ladle was axed into a blank, finish carved, and baked to harden the wood and enhance the wood grain.  The bowl has a pronounced keel where it meets the handle, to add strength and give it the traditional Scandinavian style.  

The ladle is 17" long overall.  The bowl measures 4"L x 3" W, and is hollowed out very deep for large portions.  A perfect addition to your camp cooking kit!
