The bark of this quaking aspen broomstick was whittled away using a traditional shave horse and drawknife. It leaves a faceted, whittled surface that is easy to grip, and looks hand carved.
Ready to ship. You will recieve this very broom.
The broom is 59" long, balanced, nice and light in weight. The sweep is stitched with natural linen twine, and is 10" wide at the bristle end. Nice and full, and woven tightly to last for many years. We seal our handles with food safe wood wax, and provide a linen hang loop so you can enjoy your broom when not in use. Aspen is a sturdy wood for its weight, and does not produce slivers. Great for our brooms!
We have a strong passion for brooms - creating them, learning about them, and using them. Each handmade broom we offer is built by hand using 1800's methods borrowed from the Shakers. In our small workshop in the Pacific Northwest, we weave them one at a time. Every broom is unique, and designed to last for many years. Our ambition is to offer brooms of the finest craftsmanship -- and give each one our personal guarantee of quality.
Our best wishes
Kevin & Sarah
